We invite you to visit the different communities in which International Alpha Mission

organizes food distributions every month to combat food insecurity and give hope to the disadvantaged families living there.

EL SAMAN

El Saman est un quartier situé dans la ville de

Montellano. Environ 2000 personnes y habitent. 

Les denrées alimentaires sont manquantes et très peu ont de l'emploi.

Le bario (village) est très pauvre et les habitants vivent dans des maisons souvent inondées faute de drain de surface. 

 

Ce village est situé à 15 km de Sosua et 20 km de Puerto Plata.

Chichigua de Cupey est un village dans les montagnes. Environ 50 familles habitent le village.

Les denrées alimentaires sont manquantes et très peu ont de l'emploi. Il y a très peu de maisons pour abriter tout le monde. Parfois plus de 8 familles habitent sous le même toit.

 

Ce village est situé à 20 km de Sosua et 15 km de Puerto Plata.

Pancho Mateo est un quartier situé dans la ville de Montellano. C'est un ancien village de la canne à sucre. La pauvreté est marquante. Les habitations sont en très mauvais état. Peu ont de l'emploi. Ceux qui travaillent ont un revenu insuffisant pour subvenir aux besoins.

Ce village est situé à 13 km de Sosua et 20 km de Puerto Plata

VILLA ESPERANZA

Villa Esperanza est un village dans les montagnes avec
une seule voie d'accès très rocailleuse et très difficile d'y
accéder.

 

Les denrées alimentaires sont manquantes et très peu ont de l'emploi.

 

Ce village est situé à 14 km de Sosua et 22 km de Puerto Plata.

En 2021, nous avons prolongé le programme afin de soutenir les familles durant la pandémie.

COLLINAS MARINA

  • Arroyo Seco is a village located 7.7 km from S osua in the mountains north of the Dominican Republic.

  • Montellano is an urban village located 10 km from Sosua and 14 km from Puerto Plata.

  • La Ciénaga is an urban village located 13 km from Sosua and 37 km from Puerto Plata.

  • They all have in common, of families living below the poverty line.

  • Collinas Marina continues to be supported by our organization since 2016.

  • In 2018, with the help of 3 local partners, 61 families were targeted and met in order to benefit from our monthly food distribution.
     

  • Now over 164 families   (658 people) have already received food on a regular basis.

  • Arroyo Seco is a village located 7.7 km from S osua in the north of the Dominican Republic. It is made up of families living below the poverty line.

  • In early 2017, with the help of a local partner, 22 families were targeted and met in order to benefit from our monthly food distribution.
     

  • Over 103 families   (364 people) have already received food on a regular basis.

CANGREJO & VILLA BÉTHANIA

  • More than 81 families receive food 12/12 months on a regular basis.

  • During a visit to the 'batey' of Cangrejo (former village of sugar cane), located 8.5 km from Sosua in the north of the Dominican Republic, we found that the families who live there are very poor.

  • Food insecurity is very present in this community.

 

  • With the help of a local partner, more than 31 disadvantaged families have been identified and met by our organization in order to benefit from our food distribution monthly .

 

  • Also, during this same year, 6 poor families from Villa Béthania, a village located 5 km from Sosua, were identified with the help of a local partner in order to help them with our food program.

 

  • More than 81 families (278 people) now receive food on a regular basis.

 

 

 

 

COLLINAS MARINA

  • We support 25 orphaned children.
     

  • Abandoned children.

  • Village located 2.7 km from Sosua.

 

  • We support 25 orphaned children through our bi-monthly distributions.

 

  • Over 70 kilograms of food are distributed monthly to these children.

 

  • The children have been abandoned. Parents' financial inability to support themselves.

 

  • In addition to our food distribution, our organization highlights birthdays every month so that children do not feel completely forgotten.

 

  • On the party program : snack, small present and presentation of an entertaining film for children. What to bring a little happiness in their lives!

BELLA VISTA

  • In early 2015, 16 disadvantaged families, from the Dominican community of Bella Vista, added to our food distribution. This is also the case for 13 new families of Haitian origin.

 

  • All these families are met individually by our organization in order to draw up a profile of their economic situation.

 

  • During the same year, our organization set up its Permanent Food Distribution Program. Thus the ' MEC ' ( M ouvement d ' E xpansion C ollectif) is created so that families are officially recognized as beneficiaries of our food distributions.

  • After having noticed during the year that our food distributions carried out sporadically are not enough to meet the needs of families , our organization decides to offer a permanent food distribution, that is 12/12 months.

 

  • More than 44 families now receive food on a regular basis.

BELLA VISTA

OUR FIRST FOOD DISTRIBUTIONS

  • 15 families (48 people) receive food for the first time.

  • Our food distribution begins with a first community located in Bella Vista , 3.8 km from Sosua in the north of the Dominican Republic.

  • The community of Haitian origin is very disadvantaged in this environment.

  • About fifteen (15) families living below the poverty line are identified and will receive food only during 2 visits by the founders.
